Our Convictions

What we believe as a Church must be drawn from the Bible and the Bible alone as we believe that it is the only source of Godly scripture

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Core
Beliefs

Silent Where The Bible Speaks

Speak only where the Bible is silent

1 Corinthians 4:6 – In building the visible church, we believe we must obey God’s Word. Wherever the Bible does not prohibit a practice, we are free to use our God-given creativity.

1 Corinthians 10:23 – We are free to practice or name something as long as it does not contradict the Scriptures.

Central Leadership

Unity derived from the scriptures

Numbers 27:15-23 – Throughout the Bible, when God’s people were unified, there was a strong central leadership and a godly central leader. The goal is to bring unity.

2 Timothy 3:14-17 – In the Bible, each church had leaders who unified the disciples. In the first century, churches were a collective movement. They were not autonomous or self-governing.

Bible Based Church

Not simply a New Testament Church

Ephesians 2:19-20 – We are called to be built on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets. Both the Old & New Testament apply to our lives.

2 Timothy 3:14-17 – All scripture is from God. While the word ‘Scripture’ in this passage refers to the Old Testament at the time it was written, we believe that it now applies to the New Testament as well.

Discipleship A Command Of God

Discipling is not optional

Ephesians 2:19-20 – The dynamic in this relationship begins as a teacher/student relationship and then matures to a more peer/peer relationship.

2 Timothy 3:14-17 – Discipling is teaching obedience to scripture. This is detailed in the “one another” passages: “love one another”, “instruct one another”, “confess your sins to each other”, “pray for each other”, etc.

Dream to Evangelise The World

In this generation!

Matthew 28:19-20 – Jesus wanted disciples to be made of ALL nations, and he wanted them taught His teachings found in the Bible.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 – To evangelise the world means that everyone should KNOW about God. But it is their choice to follow God or not!

COMMON QUESTIONS

In the world we live today, many have undergone painful or negative experiences with christianity, causing a misunderstanding of God. Our purpose is to help the world understand God better, just like Jesus did! We hope this section helps provide some clarity, but we cannot possibly cover every burning question that you may have in this small section, so we would love for you to contact us so we can sit down and go over things.

Q: I had a bad experience with christianity/religion, how can I be sure this is different?
A: God has given us all free will in hopes that we may love one another deeply. However, humans misuse this free will and sin against each other, though this is not God’s fault. In order to heal from our negative experiences, we need to understand God better. We could all use some healing in our lives.

Q: I think the Bible is not relevant to the world today, how can I trust the Bible?
A: The teachings and principles of the Bible are timeless, however just like any conversation, the Bible can be twisted when taken out of context, so we must be careful to read the Bible in context. Reading the Bible properly helps us understand the heart of God, join us on our Friday night Bible discussions for a lovely dinner and some great conversation.

Q: Honestly, I have no idea where to even start, can you still help?
A: Just show up! The first step can seem overwhelming, but we are here to do it together with you. Come along to church or reach out to set up a time to study the Bible with us, we love to talk about God!
